How is a Template shell different than a regular course shell?
Answer
Template Shells
Template course shells for all classes have been determined by the academic teams. The teams have identified a SOURCE course from all of the personal masters that existed for a catalog number. That SOURCE was used to make "THE" Template for that catalog number. THE Template has a special format for its name and ID.
Name: catalog # "Template" Delivery Mode - Name of Course
ID: Catalog #_Mode_Course ID
For example:
10806112 Template Blended - Principles of Sustainability (10806112_B_057979) or
10468123 Template Online - Overview of the Smart Grid (10468123_04_059189).
"THE" Template is then used by the automated course copy process each semester to make the semester class shells.
