How do I submit a SafeAssignment?

Answer

Submitting a SafeAssignment

SafeAssign works to prevent plagiarism and to create opportunities to help students identify how to properly attribute sources rather than paraphrase. SafeAssign compares submitted assignments against a set of academic papers to identify areas of overlap between the submitted assignment and existing works.

SafeAssignments can only be submitted once. If you want to edit, delete, or resubmit a SafeAssignment, contact your instructor and request that they clear your first submission.

SafeAssign accepts files in .doc, .docx, .odt, .txt, .rtf, .pdf, and .html file formats only. Do not upload files in any other formats.

Complete the following steps to submit a SafeAssignment:

NOTE: It is recommended that either Firefox or Google Chrome be used to submit SafeAssignments.

  1. On the course menu, select the link where SafeAssignment is located, for example, Assignments.

  2. On the Assignments page, look for the SafeAssignment and click View/Complete.

  3. On the Upload SafeAssignment page, optionally, type your comments in the Comment box.

  4. Browse to select a file to attach as your submission.

  5. Click Submit.

After you submit SafeAssignments, there is a slight delay between the upload and the availability of the SafeAssign report. Results are normally available within 10-15 minutes.
