Hiding Rows and Columns

You can hide columns and rows to focus on specific data. When you hide information, the data is retained.

You can hide rows from the Grade Center view to reduce the number of rows in the grid. Hidden rows are not removed from the Grade Center and you can show them at any time.

To hide a row:

  1. Point to a student's name cell and access its contextual menu.

  2. Select Hide Row.

  3. A message appears stating that the row has been successfully hidden.

    You can also select Hide Other Rows from the cell's contextual menu so you can view one row at a time.

    To show hidden rows, point to Manage in the action bar and select Row Visibility.

Hiding Columns

You can hide columns to reduce scrolling. To hide a single column, access the column heading’s contextual menu and select Hide Column. You will learn how to hide multiple columns on the next page.

To show hidden columns, point to Manage in the action bar and select Column Organization.


Showing Rows and Columns

If you have used a row or column’s contextual menu to hide it, you can show that column again. You can also perform these functions on several rows or columns at once.

To show a row:

  1. On the Action Bar, point to Manage to access the drop-down list.

  2. Select Row Visibility.

  3. On the Row Visibility page, select the check boxes for the users to be shown or hidden.

  4. On the Action Bar, click Hide Rows or Show Rows.

  5. Click Submit.

To Show a column:

  1. On the Action Bar, point to Manage to access the drop-down list.

  2. Select Column Organization.

  3. Select the check boxes for the columns to be shown or hidden.

  4. Point to Show/Hide and select an option from the drop-down list.

  5. Click Submit.
